Archons
Roleplaying as a God to Shape the World
Archons is a game of epic conflict between gods and mortals, heroes and monsters, and even of between entire civilizations.
In the first session, players and the GM will take on the role of the gods themselves, building the world from the dawn of creation to the current day. Ages will fly by in a couple of hours as you populate the map with cities, relics, dangers, and wonders. From then on, you'll be exploring the world you created. Perhaps you'll do so as a champion, someone given supernatural power by the gods to reshape the world. Perhaps you'll continue to roleplay as a god, gathering followers and performing miracles to move their plans forward. Perhaps you'll instead roleplay as a demigod, someone with supernatural power and a legendary destiny. You can focus on your own actions and one or two of your closest companions, or you can recruit cities, factions, and entire armies to your cause.
The rules are designed to minimize rolling, eliminate unnecessary bookkeeping, and keep the story moving. We don't care about how many copper pieces you have in your purse or whether you have 12 or 15 arrows in your quiver. A few simple stats allow you to represent giant monsters, army battalions, cities, gods, and more for simple resolution of large-scale conflicts.
